My Approach

Coaching is a commitment. It takes time, initiative, and, obviously, it costs money. That’s why I take my job really seriously. My goal is to make coaching a high value, personalized experience that helps people live meaningfully and joyfully while making their biggest impact in the world.

If you’ve never worked with a coach before, you might be wondering, what is coaching?

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

To me, coaching is a container that we–the coach and client–create together to support you along your change journey. I like to say that it’s client-led and coach-guided. In a coaching relationship, we build trust so that you can establish strong commitments and explore your beliefs, values, strengths, aspirations, and roadblocks. Then, we develop a plan to get you moving purposefully towards what matters most to you.

I rely on proven, pragmatic methods that are tailored to your specific circumstances and desired outcomes and that emphasize accountability, compassion, and consistency. I’m trained in Presence-Based Coaching, which draws from the fields of mindfulness, somatics, developmental psychology, complexity theory, leadership, and interpersonal neurobiology to offer an emergent synthesis of the most effective approaches to developing leaders. I use tools such as inquiry, reflection and journaling, feedback and evaluation, curriculum and learning aids, and more. I’m continuously expanding my toolkit to support the needs of my clients.

Inquiry and reflection can be helpful for getting out of your own head. Are you working on a project and feeling like you've looked at it too long? Or are you ruminating on a very specific question, and feel like you're going in circles? This type of session can help expand your thinking or break patterns that keep you stuck.

You do not have to be a former client to request this type of session. Keep in mind that this time is best used for a specific goal or focus, such as reviewing a draft of something you're working on or exploring how to articulate your ideas and thoughts.
